Today, June 13, 2026, the University of Washington holds its 151st Annual Commencement Exercises. Over 7,400 graduates are walking across the field at Husky Stadium — cheered on by 50,000 family members and friends. It is a moment years in the making, and it deserves every bit of celebration it gets.
To every Husky who crossed that stage today — whether you studied engineering, medicine, the arts, education, or anything in between — you put in the work. The late nights, the hard exams, the moments of doubt that you pushed through anyway. Today is yours.
A neighborhood proud of its Huskies
The University District has watched class after class of students arrive nervous and leave remarkable. For many of you, the U District wasn't just a place you studied — it was the neighborhood where you figured out who you are. You found your study spots, your friend groups, your favorite late-night haunts, and hopefully, a bowl or two of aburasoba along the way.
We are genuinely honored to have been one of your food stops during your time at UW. Whether you stumbled in after finals, celebrated a good grade, fueled up before a long study session, or just needed something warm and satisfying at the end of a hard day — we're glad we got to be part of your college story, even in a small way.
"The U District became home because of people like you. Thank you for letting us be part of the journey."
Happy summer to everyone
And to all the students who are not graduating this year — whether you're heading into summer break, taking summer classes, or working to recharge before fall quarter — enjoy every minute of it. Seattle summers are something special. Get outside, explore the city, rest well, and come back ready.
Summer is short here, but it's magical. The kind of warm evenings that make you wonder why you ever complained about the rain.
From all of us at Slurp Station — congratulations, graduates. You earned this. And to the whole UW community: have a wonderful summer. We'll be here when you get back. 🐾
